The concept of different cordless tools that share the same battery is not new, and many manufacturers offer a number of separate ranges that use this technology – although typically many manufacturers have often required different types of batteries to be used from one machine to another, even with machines from the same manufacturer.
That’s not the case with Einhell.
Einhell has started from scratch and has redefined the concept completely with extremely resource-intensive development of the optimum battery as the focal point for the more than 80 different cordless tools that have since launched – with still more to come!
The concept is called Power X-Change, and the battery is a masterpiece in itself. Whereas other manufacturers allow the tool to control the battery, Einhell’s intelligent 18 V lithium-ion-battery has its own built-in circuit for charging and power management that also monitors the battery continuously and shuts it down in the event of a fault or external damage that in the worst cases could otherwise cause a fire.
In addition, the battery fulfils the ambition of fitting all power tools from Einhell so that the user in practice only needs one universal battery model and one rapid charger model, no matter what. Einhell has equipped highly demanding tools and machines such as larger cordless mowers with two Power X-Change batteries, so the total battery voltage reaches 36 V – without compromising on the objective of a single battery model for everything.
This thorough and thoughtful preliminary work has provided a very solid foundation to build on in the development of many high specification cordless tools.
“You can really feel the quality of the tool as soon as you pick it up. The performance is so amazing that it has to be experienced to be believed,” explains Millarco’s founder and CEO, Lars Bærentsen.
Einhell Nordic A/S will market Einhell’s comprehensive range of battery, electric and petrol powered tools and equipment in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
