Pop rivets for joining hard materials. Pop rivets can be used in applications such as sheet metalwork where you only have access to one side of the workpiece. For that reason, pop rivets are also known as blind rivets.
The pop rivet is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the workpiece. When you pull the pull rod of a pop rivet with the pop rivet pliers, the rivet sleeve expands towards the back of the workpiece, locking the parts together.
